Our First Love - Freedom

The Dalai Lama provides such pure and simple wisdom for us.  He
believes that freedom is a human need.  In fact, he wonders if it
extends to the animal kingdom because he has a cat.  He said that the
cat has all the cat needs.  People feed him; they pet him, but if the
window is cracked open he will run away.

No matter how good things are, when we are controlled, we want out.

Aging Clarity

"When I was young, I admired clever people.  Now that I am old, I admire kind people."  Abraham Joshua Heschel

The reach of the mind can indeed be very clever - tho without feeling.  Kindness results from walking in the other one's shoes on the human, and humility, path.  When we see kindness, it seems to offer trust.

Moments in Time

"We do not remember days... We remember moments" - Cesare Pavese

I love this thought.  The stories that hover and remain in my mind are all about special moments.  I usually have a difficult time put a time on them.  These moments inspire at some level - always a heart-touch.  May 2009 bring them on.  Merrily
